Here's everything we know about the upcoming season of Trailer Park Boys!
What's 'Trailer Park Boys' about?
The show 'Trailer Park Boys' revolves around the lives and struggles of the three most important residents of Sunnyvale trailer park: Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles, as they constantly get into trouble with the cops and the alcoholic trailer park supervisor Jim Lahey and his chronically shirtless assistant Randy.
The show is shot in a mockumentary format, which means that the episodes are made up of segments of the camera crew following around the lead characters and interviewing them now and then. At the time of its debut, the show was considered an experimental comedy and really set the standard for mockumentary comedy shows.

What can we expect from the upcoming season 13?
Netflix, in a statement to the press, expressed that the show 'Trailer Park Boys' shall from now on continue in an animated format. The exact words were:
"The trailer park just got a lot weirder. Picking up where season 12 left off — and higher than ever — the entire gang has turned into cartoons."
Netflix also gave the show's fans a sneak peek into what the upcoming animated season will look like. It is still quite unclear whether the new season will feature other show regulars (besides Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles) such as Jim Lahey, J-Roc, Randy, or Trevor. John Dunsworth (who played Jim Lahey) died in 2017 during the filming of the show's 12th season, aged 71. Fans are hoping that the next season will pay tribute to the much-beloved actor and the character he played.
Therefore, apart from John Dunsworth, no announcement has been made about a change in the 'Trailer Park Boys' animated cast.
What has happened up till now on the show?
When 'Trailer Park Boys: The Animated Series' came out, fans of the show displayed mixed reactions. While some fans felt the show wasn't the same if it wasn't shot in live-action, others warmed up to the animated versions of their favourite characters quickly. The shift definitely caught most of the fans quite off-guard, especially since the animated series indulged in much far fetched storylines such as going to space and even bringing back Jim Lahey as a ghost, which not all fans thought was appropriate.
Another 'Trailer Park Boys' spin-off?
"Bubbles", on Instagram, made a post that suggested that the live-action format may still be alive, although there's a fair chance that it could be related to the prison-themed show the trio is co-creating. When asked about the future of the show, Bubbles replied positively quoting: "Yes. Lots."
After several delays, Netflix has finally confirmed that it is going through with 'Trailer Park Boys' by renewing it for the 13th season which will be released in an animated format.
